Reed Exhibitions Greater China, the country’s leading exhibition organizer, has officially expanded its reach into the local community with the launch of the 2017 Dandelion School Education Aid Program. On October 12th, the Reed Exhibitions Greater China 2017 Dandelion Middle School Education Aid Donation Ceremony was held at Dandelion Middle School.

Located in the outskirts of Beijing, Dandelion Middle School houses a large migrant student population, many of whom are disadvantaged and often face academic challenges.

Starting from this year, Reed will become one of several generous donors who regularly contribute to the plight of Dandelion students. All education aid funds will be distributed exclusively to the school. The purpose of the funds will be to assist students by decreasing the financial burden of school-related expenses, including among others, annual fees, books and school supplies, daily meals, uniforms, and after-school activities.

Reed Exhibitions Greater China and Korea President Hu Wei attended the ceremony and was later accompanied by the principal, while visiting the cafeteria, dormitories, libraries and school premises. During the school tour, he learned more about the day-to-day problems and difficulties faced by children of migrant workers.

During a post-ceremony interview, Hu Wei additionally noted Reed Exhibitions’ intentions to establish increased interaction with Dandelion School, together with plans to develop more diversified ways to help the school and students. To that end, Reed Exhibitions will be exploring more suitable ways for underprivileged children to expand their horizons, such as organizing visits to Reed offices to expose students to the outside professional world; organizing staff volunteer works and book donations; as well as finding ways to involve exhibitors in future charity activities.

The 2017 Dandelion School Education Aid Program is an exciting new addition to Reed’s educational initiatives as it continues its pursuit to attract, motivate and facilitate bright minds into the event management industry. Additional ongoing CSR programs include Reed Huabo’s Educational Charity Program, where this past September, staff paid their fourth consecutive visit to Zijin Hemu Primary School in Heyuan City. Annual visits include allowances for disadvantaged students, scholarships to outstanding academic performers, and donations of teaching materials.

Reed tirelessly invests in its people. The company’s award-winning talent development programs provide a well-rounded, stimulated environment that enables its employees to progress in their careers. It also prides itself on programs that attract outstanding young talents to the exhibition industry, including the Reed Exhibitions Greater China Scholarship Program. This highly successful, post-secondary award program, which enjoys a long-term cooperation with the Exhibition Management Department of Beijing International Studies University (BISU), has seen a significant increase in applicant numbers.
